The challenge
Arable farm Elswerd is an agricultural company from Rottum. For almost 20 years, they have been using a stove to burn residual products such as cleaning materials, grains and other agricultural products. The customer experienced several problems with this:
- Inefficient view: when burning the mixed product, the mixing was often not good, leading to inconsistent combustion.
- Small buffer capacity: the existing buffer tank was too small. This required a lot of extra work and staff time.
The solution
To address these challenges, we implemented an innovative solution consisting of:
- Buffer box tipper: a large buffer was installed with a grid on which products can be tipped via a box tipper.
- Walking floor: the buffer contains a walking floor that ensures even mixing of the product and transport to the side of the buffer.
- Transport augers: an auger transports the mixed product to the existing buffer, where it falls through a rotary lock into the small buffer. This small buffer is equipped with a product detector that automatically maintains the level.
Products used:
- Buffer tray
- Rotary sluice
- Screws

The result
The implementation of the new buffer solution has brought significant benefits to the customer:
- Increased efficiency: The larger buffer allows the customer to stay away from the plant for longer periods of time, reducing the need for frequent replenishment. This saves time and labour.
- Improved opinion: Product mixing is now much better, leading to more consistent combustion and fewer problems in the stove.
