The Volume Measuring System VMS3000 from Jansen&Heuning is a proven solution for accurately measuring the volume of bulk materials on conveyor belts. The system combines advanced vision technology with high quality electronics. This integration ensures stable and consistent measurements, even under varying process conditions. With this technological approach, the VMS3000 is among the first systems achieving a reliability of more than 99 percent in volume measurement of bulk materials.<\/p>\n

How does the volume measuring system work<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A laser beam is projected at a fixed angle onto the product profile on the conveyor belt. A camera registers this profile and reads the image more than fifty times per second. The resolution is approximately 1000 by 1000 measuring points. As a result, around 50 MB of data is processed per second. This requires and utilises the latest electronics.<\/p>\n

Based on this data, the cross sectional area of the product is determined. In combination with the measured belt speed, the volume flow and capacity are calculated. The measurement data is read via a USB connection on a PC. The required software is supplied as standard. Optionally, an English software protocol is available, allowing the control and read out functions to be fully or partially integrated into a PLC system.<\/p>\n
