Scrapers are an essential component of belt conveyors<\/a><\/strong> for bulk materials.<\/p>\n

The top side of the belt is cleaned with a scraper on and\/or directly after the drive pulley. The inner side of the belt is cleaned on the return section just before the tail pulley.<\/p>\n

Primary scraper<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A scraper is pressed against the belt using rubber spring elements.<\/p>\n

This can be positioned directly on the pulley at approximately 60\u00b0 to the horizontal and\/or directly after the pulley, where the belt can move freely.<\/p>\n

The best performance is achieved by applying both scrapers: a primary scraper and a secondary scraper.<\/p>\n

The scraper blades can consist of multiple shorter segments or a single long strip.<\/p>\n

In most cases, scraper blades are made of soft or hard plastic. For scraping sticky materials, steel scraper blades often perform better.<\/p>\n

Plough scraper<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The V-shaped plough scraper prevents coarse particles and contamination from entering between the belt and the return pulley, which could contaminate the pulley and cause belt tracking issues.<\/p>\n

Good to know<\/strong><\/h3>\n

There is no ideal scraper. Some level of environmental contamination will always occur. For each situation, the most effective scraper configuration should be selected.<\/p>\n
