Description Z-Type Chain Conveyor
The shortest route is straight ahead, but this is not always possible. In certain layouts, a Z-type (also often referred to as S-type) or C-type conveyor is an effective solution. With a single conveyor, the same result can be achieved as with three or more separate conveyors.
Jansen&Heuning has many years of experience with these installations, which perform reliably in practice and require minimal maintenance.
Application Z-Type Chain Conveyor
If products are non-sticky, they are suitable for an S-type chain conveyor.
- Products that can be handled include:
– Granules: all types of grain, animal feed, cement, biomass, lime, sulphur, cocoa beans, coffee beans, sugar, salt, nuts, peanuts, almonds, etc.
– Powders: flour, meal, semolina, starch, milk powder, cocoa powder, dried vegetables, bentonite, fly ash, stone meal, etc. - Used in industries such as agriculture, chemicals, food, food ingredients, minerals, building materials, biomass, recycling and wastewater treatment.
- S-type chain conveyors are designed for Z– or C–shaped configurations.
- Multiple volumetric inlets and outlets, with or without slide gates, can be freely positioned, for example for loading or unloading a row of silos.

- All possible material options for trough and chain (steel, stainless steel, heat-resistant, wear-resistant, etc.)
- Controlled capacity with adjustable layer thickness at the inlet
- Outlets: open, with electro-pneumatic, electric or manual slide gate
- Slide gates with spillage collection
- Overflow valve with sensor for full or blocked discharge
- Speed monitor to detect chain breakage or drive failure
- Indoor or outdoor installation
