Description Fan-type Hammer Mill
The DM2, DM3 and BM5 hammer mills are ideal for grinding grain into animal feed. They feature a built-in fan, which conveys the raw and ground material through the system. This has the advantage of cooling the flour during the process. Thanks to the mill’s simple and robust design, it can be integrated into most existing systems worldwide.
Milling
The structure of the milled material depends primarily on the mesh size, but also on the raw material. Wheat, for example, is easier to grind than barley. So, if the same sieve size is used for both wheat and barley, the result for wheat will be a much finer structure. The moisture content in the grain also influences the structure: the wetter the material, the coarser the structure. Oats are particularly difficult to grind and often contain large amounts of whole husk fragments after grinding, making the feed difficult to flow through the silos.
Conveying
The conveying capacity depends on the motor power and the number of fan blades in the mill. During installation, it must be borne in mind that the mill is better at blowing than at suction. The conveying distances given in the table are horizontal distances. When calculating, the vertical rise must be counted twice and each bend must be counted as 3 m.
