Description Bigbag robot

The bigbag robot fully automates the filling, suspension and handling of FIBCs and increases both efficiency and safety of the process. With this patented system, the lifting loops are interconnected with thin cords that converge at the filling spout, allowing it to unfold automatically and be positioned easily over the filling pipe.

Application bigbag robot

The bigbag robot is designed for efficient filling of large volumes of bigbags per year, with a capacity of approximately 50 to 100 units per hour.

Bigbags are used for a wide range of bulk solids, depending on the physical properties of the material, such as powders, granules and pellets, flakes, crystalline products, coarse bulk materials and pellets.

This invention is patented under number NL2002251.

Operation bigbag robot

  • An empty pallet is placed from the pallet magazine onto the filling position
  • The suction cup and gripping arms pick up an empty bigbag from the stack and unfold it
  • The arms move in a semi-circular motion
  • The opened filling spout is positioned over the filling pipe
  • The inflatable sealing sleeve around the filling pipe seals the spout
  • The bigbag is inflated to achieve a stable shape
  • The lifting loops are released
  • The pallet moves upward, supports the bigbag during filling and weighs the net content during the process
  • The product is filled into the bigbag and the final stage is dosed for accurate filling weight
  • The bigbag is lifted slightly to release tension from the filling spout
  • The inflatable sleeve deflates and releases the spout
  • The filling spout is automatically closed
  • The bigbag is lowered to the level of the discharge roller conveyor and transferred onto it
  • Meanwhile, the second arm picks up a new bigbag and the cycle restarts

Specifications bigbag robot

  • Capacity for single-arm execution approximately 50 units per hour
  • Capacity for dual-arm execution with rotating arm approximately 100 units per hour
  • All common bigbag dimensions are possible
  • Supply of empty and discharge of filled FIBCs can be fully automated. Forklifts handle removal of filled bigbags and supply of empty pallets and stacks

Advantages bigbag robot

  • Fully automated suspension, filling and discharge of bigbags
  • No physical operator required, only one or more forklifts
  • Suitable for forklifts with standard forks

Execution options and accessories bigbag robot

The patented bigbag handling system offers multiple configuration options. To achieve a capacity of up to 100 units per hour, a system with two arms is required. A simpler system with one picking mechanism is also possible, achieving a capacity of approximately 50 to 60 units per hour.

Operation without pallets under the bigbags is also possible.
